Stage 2 - La Clusaz to Bourg St Maurice

The Mill guys were on a high yesterday after completing a 130Km journey to La Clusaz. The team had to detour slightly en route due to a road closure but it didn't stop our lot having a good time and ending the day down the phone to us in fits of laughter.

Today the Fireflies have set off from La Clusaz to to Bourg St. Maruice which will be a slightly shorter ride of 90Km.

Ben and Giles kept us updated this morning with a couple new shots- Ant striped down to the basics followed by Giles and Ben looking (quite attractive, "ed") before they set off for the day.

Thank you for all your posts!! Here is what the guys had to say in response:
Jess:
“Thanks shrimp, eaten all of your flapjacks, they are magic! Couldn’t do this without them. Can you send more by carrier-pigeon? lol Dad xx”

Wiggins:
“Thanks for the support Wiggs! With your stamina, we reckon you’d fly up these mountains faster than an express chairlift.”

Pat:
“Ant gets his kit off a lot and so photo ops are easy - you’re coming with us next year! Thanks for your sponsorship, The Mill team are hard at work (even though we’re not at work).”

Juzza:
“It’s not cool, it’s 30° and everyone’s sunburnt. Works well with the chaffing I can tell you. Even Giles’ special cream is having to be applied twice a day.”

Robin:
“Thanks Robin, Ant’s razor’s been busy almost 24/7 so I haven’t had a look-in! Can I borrow the Serota next year, when you’ve finally got it out of the case?!? See you in Cannes for a much needed half lager.”

Michael Baulk:
“You are a rotten cheat! We would’ve beaten you downhill! And we bet you didn’t eat as many flapjacks as we have! Can we borrow the Ferrari next year? Best wishes from Bourg St Maurice, Ben , Ant and Giles.”

Amazing work guys it sounds like you have all got well and truly into the swing of things.

I reckon I will stick to the Marathon running and you can do the cycling as 1000km & 90'000ft just sounds a bit too much of a challenge for me.

Good luck with the rest of the ride.

You're doing brillantly- well done!

By the way, I know exactly how you feel... I once follwed exactly your same route. I completed the course.

Of course, I did it a Ferarri Marnello 550- but then I am a little older than you.

Good Luck,

Take care,

Michael

Well done boyz. You can stop cuddling each other in the photos now and start getting gritty!

Good luck with the next few days and I hope that the rain holds off and it stays cool.

Guys,

Great work. Pat and I know just how you feel too from that ride we did to France - the mountains between Greenwich and Paris are unbelievable!

Keep up the good work.

Robin

PS. Ben - isn't all that hair slowing you down? I'm sure Ant would lend his razor..

Well done so far, although I can't help feeling that your 50k ride today was a little lightweight! On the subject of photos, more action shots please and I don’t mean Ant getting his kit off.
Best of luck with the serious Cols it’s only going to get a lot harder before you get to Cannes.

Any crying or vomiting yet? Ant's shaving pic made me cry and vomit a little. Carry on - Neil.

Well done Boys, it sounds so exciting and a bit like a holiday.
I think about you when I cycle to and from work- I'm knackered just cycling up Queenstown Road, so can't imagine what you're going through.
take care, and Giles, keep that helmet on!
love one of the WAG's

love the pics, v. cosy you all look. Ben has written a great account
of the day - totally sympathise with the boys for your modesty
regarding you own brilliance !! Remind them I live with you !!!!!!!!!
We are all missing you loads and hope you will do so well over the
next 8 days. Love you so much Ant
